(Ji-Hyun)

(Hey Liedlovers: Wanna know more – jump to the english version...)

(Ji-Hyun)

We are especially looking forward to the Liedwettbewerb Stuttgart 2020 because …

it is so special to have the possibility of “Liedmaking” and “Liedexperiencing” after such a long break for musicians and audience. (Mathias)

… I can play for the world class singers and pianists. (Ji-Hyun)

We have been preparing for the competition

since summer by rehearsing/sweating/laughing/crying, having fun and enjoying the music.

A word that characterizes my duo partner:
Mathias about Ji-Hyun: Serenity
Ji-Hyun about Mathias: encouraging

Our favorite Hugo Wolf song is ...

… every single one in our program but besides them I am a huge fan of An die Geliebte (Mörike) and Wie des Mondes Abbild zittert (Heine). (Mathias)

… Fühlt meine Seele because it is just beautiful in every way. The way it speaks to us through the text, music, harmony.... it really touches our hearts. (Ji-Hyun)

The competition’s livestream is great because ...

… people from all over the world are able to follow the competition. During my studies I loved watching the livestream at home and cheer for the competitors. (Mathias)

… it’s a great way to communicate with the audience from all over the world. (Ji-Hyun)
